DISCLAIMER Clio Connect will work with most dental imaging software, but since there are so many on the market, we have yet to test with all of them. If you do not see instructions or want to know if it is compatible with your imaging software, please contact us, so our technical support team can provide further assistance. You can reach us by phone at 714.532.6100 extension 2 or by email at support@sotaimaging.zendesk.com.
To install Clio Connect you will need two separate installers as well as the calibration file for your sensors. The first is the actual sensor drivers and the second is Clio Connect. They can both be found at our resources page under Clio Sensors. The calibration file is included on the USB drive that came with your sensor. If you've misplaced this drive, please call or email our support team and we can provide the necessary files.
Once you have the drivers and calibration files for each sensor, we can proceed. First, run the sensor driver installer, SetupIntraOralUsb_64bit.exe or SetupIntraOralUsb_32bit.exe, depending on your operating system.
NOTE All drivers need to be run from each workstation.
You cannot install from a server or network location.
There will be a few prompts upfront. Select Next for each one, keeping note of the installation directory.
After agreeing to the End User License Agreement, the installation will begin.
Next, you will need to place your calibration files within the ClioSensor folder on each computer at the location below.
C:\ClioSensor
The .RAW file is located in the Correction Files directory on the USB flash drive that came with the sensor.
After that is in place, we will need to configure Clio Connect for your imaging software in order for it to properly auto-advance. You'll need to manually run Clio Connect from the installation directory you took now of earlier.
Once there, run Clio Connect.exe or Clio TWAIN Client.exe. You'll then see it running in the system tray, as seen below. You may need to click the up arrow to see more options.
Right-click the Clio Connect icon and select Client Settings.
Towards the bottom of the Clio Connect preferences, you'll see multiple tabs for common imaging software. If you see the one you're using, check the box for Enable Software Specific Modes if it isn't already and then go to that tab. Check the box for Enable Automatic Re-Arm, being sure to select the correct version number if given the option. If you do not see your imaging software, uncheck Enable Software Specific Modes and check Use Custom Mode and get more details below.
Below, you'll find more specific details for specific imaging software configurations.
Eaglesoft / Patterson Imaging
Within Eaglesoft, navigate to the Preferences and then the X-ray tab where you'll set the default device to 'Scanner'.
You'll also need to uncheck the box Use Auto Acquire and check Use Scanner Default Interface. Next, click Device Properties and select 'Clio Digital X-ray Sensor.'
The last thing you will need to do is create or modify templates to be used with a scanner device.
VixWin Platinum 3.5
In the Custom Mode tab, match the settings you see above.
Inside of VixWin, select File then Optical Scanner Select and choose 'Clio Digital X-ray Sensor'.
Use Optical Scanner Acquire to take images.
VixWin Platinum 3.6.1 and Higher
In the Custom Mode tab, match the settings you see above.
Inside of VixWin, select File then Optical Scanner Select and choose 'Clio Digital X-ray Sensor'.
Use Optical Scanner Acquire to take images.
Dexis 9
If your version of Dexis is higher than 9.4.5, check both boxes (the second box will only remain checked until Dexis is launched next).
For Clio Connect to properly integrate with Dexis, the Third-Party IntraOral X-ray module must be installed and licensed.
NOTE This module does need to be purchased from and installed by Dexis before our sensor will function.
Finally, select the TWAIN module in the Dexis settings DexRay. The sensor device select option should be under '-5 Clio X-ray sensor' if installed correctly.
If you have any questions about any step of this process, we would love to assist you further. Again, you can reach us by phone at 714.532.6100 extension 2 or by email at support@sotaimaging.zendesk.com.
