When using a third-party device in SOTA Image through a TWAIN, you may receive skewed or discolored images, usually with a blue or purple tint. This is normally caused by how the image is sent by the TWAIN to our software. Fortunately, we have an option in our settings that will change how that image is processed. The first thing you will want to do is open SOTA Image and click the Settings icon.
Once in the settings window, locate the Placeholder Type in the Acquisition section.
In the drop-down menu, you'll select the device you're having an issue with. Once selected, click the Settings button to the right of the menu.
In the Placeholder Settings window, make sure that the 'Use Buffered TWAIN' box is unchecked. Click Done in this window and then the Save button in the settings and go ahead and test the device. If you're still having this issue, try it again with the 'Use Buffered TWAIN' box checked. Once successful, this will resolve the issue from this point onward, however, this will not affect any images taken previously to making this setting change as those images have already been processed and saved.
If you have any questions about any step of this process, we would love to assist you further. You can reach us by phone at 714.532.6100 extension 2 or by email at support@sotaimaging.zendesk.com.
